Butterflies have always attracted people with their unique beauty. There are thousands of different species of butterflies all over the world, and they all differ from each other in coloration and tracery of wings. About 400 of different lepidopterans live in the greenhouse of Moscow Butterfly House on the terratory of VVC. In the area of 300 square metres there is a big exposition of exotic butterflies of the South-East Asia, Africa, South America. Wingspan of some species reaches 25-30 cm. Inside the greenhouse butterflies are provided with all necessary living conditions: dense vegetation, flowers, temperature and humidity control.
Butterflies are harmless for people, but people can damage these fragile creations, so it is not allowed to touch and catch them.
Also, there is an exposition of exotic insects in the garden: huge beetles, cockroaches, spiders: Cordilleras leaf insect (Peruphasma schultei), Mexican red-knee bird spider (Brachypelma smithi), Giant African kalutara snail (Achatina fulica), Venezuelan cockroaches (Lucihormetica verrucosa), Yemeni chameleon and others.
