I've recently been to a rather new subway station "Trubnaya" in Moscow. It was opened on August 30, 2007. The station left a positive impression on me and, in my opinion, can be put in one line with the most beautiful metro stations in Moscow. The main elements of its design are illuminated stained glass mosaics with images of historic Russian cities (such as Rostov, Novgorod, Yaroslavl and others) and big pictures above every passages in the central hall. The author of the mosaics and pictures is Zurab Tsereteli.
The station is a tri-vault wall column design with a monolithic concrete plate on the floor. The portals, cornices and station walls are faced with warm beige marble. The floor has a geometric layout out of polished dark green, black and light grey granite. Lighting is achieved by hidden fluorescent lamps behind the portal cornices which unite every four passages between the central and the platform halls.
The station is located under Trubnaya Square not far from the intersection of Tsvetnoy Boulevard and Boulevarnoe Koltso.
Exit to the city: towards Trubnaya Square, Tsvetnoy Boulevard, Rojdestvenskiy and Petrovskiy Boulevards, Trubnaya and Neglinnaya Streets, the theater "The school of Mordern play" and the circus.
