From July to September 2016, the Tretyakov National Gallery of Moscow, in association with the London National Gallery of Portraits and the Museums of Vatican, will be hosting an exhibition dedicated to the 200th birth anniversary of Hovhannes (Ivan) Aivazovsky, showcasing the painter’s most remarkable paintings, including “The Rainbow” and “The Black Sea” from the Tretyakov Gallery, as well as “The Ninth Wave” and “Storm” from the Russian museum.
At the exhibition will shown 100 paintings and 50 graphic works by Aivazovsky, including the never-before-seen painting titled “Near the Shores of the Caucasus”, as reports Artsakhpress, according to TASS.
