It is just a wall, just a piece of concrete… But the very concrete stretching for 155 km divided Germany into two parts for a long time. Now a fragment of that wall, a small piece 4 meters long and 2 meters wide can be found in Moscow. It was handed over to the Sakharov Center's museum by "Checkpoint Charlie" Museum (Berlin).
There is a hole in the center of the fragment. The wall is adorned with bright butterflies made of metal. It looks like they fly through the hole to freedom.
Authors of the monument - sculptors Alexei Grigoriev and Daniel Metlyansky and artist Maxim Metlyansky.
