The country estate "Arkhangelskoye" is located 20 km from Moscow in Krasnogorsky District. The territory of the estate is huge, and a beautiful park takes the main part of it.
The main sight of the place is the palace - a wonderful monument of Russian culture from the end of the 18th to the beginning of the 19th centuries. The palace is in a very desolate condition now, but is still magnificent. It belonged to the princes Odoevsky, Cherkassky and Golitsinsky’s family until 1809, but its real flourishing is connected with the name of the rich Russian prince Yusupov, who was a collector and patron of art. He bought the estate in 1810 and made it one of the most popular centers of high-society in Moscow. It was even called a Versailles of Moscow.
There are numerous statues and busts in front of the palace in the park: dogs, lions, military leaders, gods and many others. The park is full of flowers and has a huge lawn. It is very nice to walk there. Besides, you can ride a horse or enjoy your time at the small cafes.
On the last photo you can see the burial vault of the Yusupov family, which is also a significant sight of "Arkhangelskoye".
To get there, you should take the bus 549 or 151 from the metro station "Tushinskaya" and make a stop at "Sanatoriy".
