Magic stones in Kolomenskoe

Kolomenskoye Museum Reserve has its own secrets and mysteries. There are many legends about different objects on its territory. For example, you can find two huge stones on the bottom and the hill of the ravine in Kolomesnkoe. They are almost completely hidden under the ground, and only a small part of them appears at the surface. Each of the stones has about 11.000 pounds in weight and a very unusual form. One of them is white and even, and looks like a head of a horse. The other one is womanlike and all covered with huge "blisters". They say that the stones have magic healing powers.

For example, it you touch the womanlike stone with the sick part of your body, you will recover of your illness. Also, they say that the this stone helps women to heal infertility and guarantees a speedy pregnancy. And, as they say, if a man sits on the manlike stone for a while, it will increase his potency.

Besides, the stones don't only help to heal from sexual dysfunction and sterility, but also can fulfil other types of wishes.

Kolomenskoe is considered an anomalous zone of Moscow. Many strange and mystic things happen there. For instance, there is Golosov Revine in Kolomesnkoe park, where people fixed lapses of time. Some of the documents of the Moscow region police department contain a list of people from the neighbour villages, who mysteriously disappeared in the 19th century. For example, two peasants of the village Sadovniki, Arkhip Kuzmin and Ivan Bochkarev, had been considered missing since 1810 and then suddenly appeared in... 1831!

The peasants narrated that they were returning home from another village at night and decided to pass through Golosov Revine, despite all the hearsays. There was a thick mist on the bottom of the valley, and they suddenly saw a path flooded with white light! The peasants didn't go there, but met some strange people overgrown with hair, who were making gestures pointing to the way back. The peasants proceeded to their village and, when they got home, saw their wives and children looking 20 years older than before. At the witnesses' insistence, the police investigated that incident  and made an experiment in the revine. In its process one of the peasants disappeared in the fog again and never came back. Afterwards, the other peasant fell into depression and committed suicide. This story was described in the famous Russian newspaper "Moscow News" ("Moskovskiye Vedomosti") on July 9, 1832.

How to get to the stones:

Having come to Kolomenskoye Museum Reserve, you should pass the main church buildings downstairs to the embankment. Then turn your back on the embankment and go down the path on the left side from the Upper and Lower ponds of Kolomenskoe, deep into the revine. Pass by the staircases on the left and right sides, leading to the top of the revine. It will take 5 minutes to reach a decrepit staircase on the left. If you go upstairs, you'll see the womanlike stone. If you pass by the staircase and go 10-15 meters forward deeper into the revine, you'll find the other stone.
