From 31 May to 4 June 2017, VDNH EXPO (pavilion No. 75) will host Multimir, the largest festival of entertainment for children and their parents in Russia. For the second year in a row, the organisers will bring together leading Russian and international animation studios, and young visitors will be able to meet their favorite cartoon characters.
The main summer festival Multimir, coinciding with Children's Day and the beginning of summer holidays, starts on the last day of meteorological spring – the 31st of May. By this day, a whole town with lots of amazing playgrounds will have grown on the site of pavilion No. 75 in VDNH. Leading Russian animation studios will recreate their cartoon worlds, and young visitors will experience a unique magical atmosphere.
Favourite cartoon characters The best-known and loved cartoon characters are looking forward to meeting their little fans: Masha and the Bear, Mi-mi-mishki, Smeshariki, Three cats, Luntik, Barboskiny and Fiksiki. Russian animation stars will be joined by foreign guests such as Winx club, Peppa Pig, Angry Birds, Hello Kitty, and other cartoon characters from the TV channels Karusel, Mult, Tlum HD, Ani, Mama, Cartoon Network and Tiji. Children will not only be able to meet the cartoon characters on the festival grounds, but also see them walking along Multimir's central alley.
Braiding workshop Every participant has prepared something interesting for the festival's guests. For example, Rose the Beauty will teach girls how to make unusual braids at the Barboskiny cartoon series stand, and the future stars will be able to sing karaoke with Lisa the Fidget. Young scientists will carry out chemistry experiments with Gena, and Druzhok Barboskin will invite all sports fans to a football match.
Pillow fights The Three Bogatyrs stand will organize a challenging maze and an area for pillow fights. Parovoz Studio will provide a playground for the youngest visitors, while older children will be able to meet their favourite cartoon characters, including: Bumazhki, Mi-mi-mishki, Magic Lamp, Leo and Tig, and enjoy a decoupage workshop, a journey to the magic land of cartoons using virtual reality technology, a dance program and other fun surprises. Everybody's favourite Masha and the Bear will greet visitors with games, cartoons and workshops. Children will be able to build an interesting model and help create a unique art object.
Archery and crossbow The themed zones YaiGrushka, Ravensburger and Odnim Prekrasnym Utrom (One Fine Morning) from Perviye Shagi (First Steps) will offer children the opportunity to have a go at archery and crossbow, take pictures with a dragon and characters from the Cucaracha game, play board games, and even create a masterpiece of interior design, choosing the furniture, wallpaper, flooring, curtains and textiles for a dolls house.
Road traffic school Robocar Poli's fans will attend road traffic classes. Experienced instructors will teach children how to cross the road correctly and explain road signs to them.
Children will be able to turn into their favourite cartoon characters from Ben 10 and the Powerpuff Girls at the TV channel Cartoon Network site. The stand's main attraction will be a moving telescopic crane, which will allow children to experience the real feeling of "flight". Children who enjoy excitement and danger can play Quasar, while the dance workshop and hand-made zone are ideal for creative children. This area also has a special drawing wall.
Photo zones and scientific shows The grounds of the cartoon series Flying Animals will provide all visitors the opportunity to colour and take home a pair of wings, take a picture in the amazing photo zones, and participate in a charity campaign, contests and quizzes. The Naukomania (Science Mania) show will invite inquisitive kids into the world of chemistry, physics and scientific experiments. Together with professors Serge and Arti, young scientists will freeze different objects using liquid nitrogen and learn how to make chemical soda water using carbon dioxide.
Robots The famous robot Thespian and the curious Derevyaka and Kusaka robots will be waiting for all festival visitors at the Robostation.
Children's music groups Multimir's main stage will host exciting performances from the country's best children's music groups. Premiere screenings of the most popular cartoon series will also be shown here. One of the festival's central events will be the Multquest – full of puzzles and unexpected adventures, whose winners will receive prizes and gifts.
Kabinet Aybolita
The Kabinet Aybolita campaign, organised by the Department of Health of Moscow city and VDNH JSC, will be held on the festival grounds over the five days. Young visitors will be able not only to have fun time with the kind Doctor Aybolit and his small animal friends, take part in themed games and quizzes, but also have a medical examination and consult some of Moscow's leading doctors: pediatrician, gastroenterologist, cardiologist, dentist and physical therapy specialist.
