Great Geographical Discoveries in the Moscow Planetarium

A new exhibition, Great Geographical Discoveries, has recently opened at the Moscow Planetarium. Visitors will be able to see the exhibition during a tour of the Lunarium Interactive Museum.

The exhibition will give insight into the maritime expeditions of navigators Vasco da Gama, Christopher Columbus and Ferdinand Magellan. Tour guides will also pay great attention to Russian explorers – travellers and navigators – who made discoveries that enriched world science.

The era of great geographical discoveries is crucial to the history of mankind. It is the time when the maps of continents, seas and oceans were becoming increasingly accurate, when technical devices were constantly being improved, and when the leading countries kept sending navigators to search for new lands and resources.
