The Vodka History Museum is located in the walls of Kremlin in Izmailovo. Moscow became the origin of Russian vodka in the 15th century. The museum demonstrates all the 500-year history of vodka - from the moment of its invention to these days. Its large collection contains more than 600 kinds of vodka, vodka recipes of the 18th century, various posters, photographs and documents of different periods of Russian history (tsar's and president's decrees, works by famous writers).
At the museum you will see numerous labels and vodka bottles of different sizes - from shkalik (or kosushka) to shtof and quarter. You will learn the secrets of vodka production process as well as the main ingredients of the Russian national drink. Also, you will see the first distillation unit, by means of which burning wine was produced in the XVth century.
